Bayon

Inside the walls of Angkor Thom, the first temple-site is Bayon. From a distance, it appears to consist solely of glorious piles of sharp, sandstone rubble.

A closer look brings the roughly 200 faces of Avalokitesvara into full view.

Claustrophobia-inducing passageways, myriad tunnels, and ornate bas reliefs make this site an exciting visit.

It always feels like somebody's watching me...

The Asian Elephant: intelligent, indefatigable, and enormous.

I have to laugh at the picture of Gavin and me! You did such a great job grouping all the photographs and sorting out all the temples, and putting a name to everything.....I was so confused...thanks Nell!
