Mui Ne: Biển Dừa
Our trip to Mui Ne was over a month ago and our memories of the wonderful beach town are fading fast as the hustle and bustle of Saigon has effectively scratched clean our addled brains. But for the sake of posterity, I thought we would share a few final images of our time there.
We stayed at a small beachfront resort hotel called Biển Dừa (136 Nguyen Dinh Chieu) which is conveniently located on the north side of town next door to our favorite watering hole, Pogo. Biển Dừa, or as it is translated, Coconut Beach, has a lush tropical garden surrounded by small villas and bungalows to rent. The staff is predominantly female and they were courteous, playful, and also very helpful regarding local recommendations and arrangements (bike rental, Jeep excursion, etc). There isn't a pool and the sea can be quite intimidating for those who aren't strong swimmers, but the rooms are spacious and the seaside lounge area is an idyllic setting for a book and a mid-morning nap.

Bring mosquito repellent and if you are a light sleeper make sure to stay on the side of the resort away from Pogo, as they often push the party into the wee hours of the night.
