"COSMIC BEAT is a series of FREE parties in the spirit of spontaneous collaboration and damn good tunes.
Supported by our ever-growing progressive electronic music community in Saigon, we welcome back DAISUKE TANABE and newcomer SLEEVE into our family with support by DJ JASE of The Beats Saigon and DEMON SLAYER.
At Yoko, returning Japanese avant-garde beatmaster DAISUKE TANABE and his intricate sound-puzzles will be paired with SLEEVE's skewed pop sensibilities and otherwordly bass-heavy break-neck grooves, supported by JASE's dub-side throwdowns and DMNSLYR's space-age funky psychedelia, caramelized together with eye-candy live visuals by DISCOCACTUS of the JETLAG crew.
A more-paired down beach party affair at Oceans Republic in Mui Ne will feature SLEEVE and DAISUKE TANABE in full force, holding up the noisy sea and choking the deserts with their sonic tides--little drops of symphony in a modal dissonance.
Ninja Tune veteran Daisuke Tanabe headlines again with his distinct brand of electronic wizardry and avant-engineering, that have had tastemakers like Gilles Peterson and Pete Adarkwah turn their heads. Inspired by ambient, jazz, folk, reggae, and the entire canon of electronic music, Daisuke Tanabe assembles superbly subtle compositions made up of distinctively miniscule layers of sound. This member of Tony Nwachukwu's CD-R community knows that notes and melodies are just the guidelines for the feelings that lie beneath."
